Closing the Carbon Loop in a Trans-Atlantic Distributor
A 100-year-old B2B distributor risked penalties under new supply-chain laws and carbon-price regimes. We began with an audit that mapped KPIs to an accountable committee, merged ESG, legal and procurement data into a single cockpit, and rewrote promotion criteria around Scope-1-to-3 progress.
Product teams shifted from vague “green lines” to SKU-level carbon P&L. In 18 months low-impact items rose to 19.8 % of all orders; 38 % of spend flowed to certified suppliers; Scope 1 & 2 emissions fell 11 %; women in management hit 28.9 %.
Why it matters -> hard-coding climate metrics into everyday decisions turns compliance cost into market share.
